Nigeria's historical movie, ’76, produced by Izu
Ojukwu and Adonaijah Owiriwa emerged the biggest winner at this year’s Africa
Magic Viewers Choice Award,AMVCAs. The film, which takes a retrospective look into the first six
post-civil war years in Nigeria carted five awards out of its fourteen
nominations, making it the most AMVCAs-lauded film ever. The awards included,
Best
Movie, Best Actress, Best Costume Designer, Best Art Director and
Best Director.
The event was held at the Convention
Centre of the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, on Saturday.
Actress Funke Akindele also won two
awards, while the Trailblazer Award went to Somkele Iyamah-Idhalama
and Chika Okpala aka Chief Zebrudaya took home the Industry Merit
Award.
