It was fan fare galore in London
recently at the premiere of the new movie, Omiran, (Giant), produced
by wave-making actress, Tolulope Oke.
The premiere which held at Planet
Nollywood in Camberwell Green, south east London saw Oke and the star
actor of the movie, Femi Adebayo, being the cynosure of all eyes.
The high class event was attended by
the cream de la cream of the London social circuit and Oke was highly
elated by the massive turnout and the success of the event.
According to her, this feat surpassed
her previous records when she premiered two of her previous movies,
Bi Ala and Adun in London in 2012 and 2014 consecutively.
“The Nigerian community in the UK
turned out en masse to support me at this premiere,” she said. “The
turnout was so impressive and I was so overwhelmed by the support of
movie fans in the UK. The acceptance for the movie was so awesome and
I am grateful.”
She stated that the premiere was
organized by her production outfit, Edge 17 Productions, with support
from Naija FM Station, Godfather Promotion and Ben TV, London.
Highly ecstatic, Oke disclosed that
the event would remain a reference point for its uniqueness, success
and massive support.
Omiran stars notable names in Nollywood
including Adebayo, Rose Odika, Funsho Adeolu, Muyideen Oladapo and
Oke.
According to Oke, the movie is an
adaptation of a real life experience and it explores the theme of
love and integrity. It was shot in cosmopolitan settings in Ibadan,
Nigeria.

is a die-hard drug baron who puts up a front to evade the searchlight
of the law. His love affair with Ayinke, (Oke), proves to be his
Achilles heel and he tries desperately to keep his head above
troubled-water as the plot thickens.
Oke has several movies to her credit
and the four productions from her stable include Bi Ala, Adun, Home
Sick and Omiran. She is a University of Lagos sociology graduate who
further honed her acting craft with a diploma in Dramatic Art from
the Obafemi Awolowo University.

Mirage directed by veteran film maker Tunde Kelani and Zone 222, an
M-Net TV series directed by Rogers Ofime, as well as Bi Ala and Adun
remain indelible in people’s minds.
