The winners of The 2017 Future Awards
Africa were hosted to a fine dining experience by The African Young
Chefs' Competition Team at Tarragon Restaurant in Ikoyi on Saturday
the 24th of February 2018.
The event was a celebration of young
talent and entrepreneurs driving the new African narrative while
highlighting the initiative of the African Young Chefs' Competition
and the impact of the Awards on their work and initiatives.
Chef Tiyan Alile, founder of the
Culinary Academy and Chef Patron of Tarragon Restaurant gave a
welcome address and brief description of the menu.
"Tonight, The African Young Chefs'
Competition is hosting you because of your remarkable effort in your
various professions. The bread you’re eating has Cayenne pepper in
it and the Amuse Bouche has Tatashe. In Africa, we can easily be
vegetarians because we eat a lot of plants; we made a salad dressing
using local scent leaves.”
As the event continued, she expressed
her excitement in hosting the winners.
“Debola is doing the same thing by
empowering Africans with the Future Awards Africa so I said let's
have a dinner party with good food and wine but also recognize them
and pay it forward."
The event came to an end with a closing
remark by Mr. Adebola Williams, co-founder of The Future Project.
