Popular RnB singer, Banky W who once
advised award-winning, Wizkid and Davido to sheath their swords and
embrace peace, instead of throwing back and forth shades at each
other, has again added his voice to the ongoing feud between the two
superstars.
The newly married singer was
congratulating the two superstars on his Instagram page following
their victories at just concluded 2017 MOBO Awards and had to remind
them of the need to work together as brothers.
Banky W said “Both Wizkid and Davido
are extremely important to the Naija/African music movement and
culture”adding “I personally hate it when people try to make it
seem like you have to choose one or the other.”
Continuing, Banky W said “There's
enough room in the sky for all of our stars to fly, so instead of us
encouraging a childish, petty narrative that never ends well
(remember Pac/Biggie?), we should encourage all of our acts to be all
they can be. I don't wanna choose. Why should I have to? I
want Wizkid, David , Olamide, Kiss Daniel , Tiwa Savage, Yemi and
every last one of us who have somehow managed to break through, to
remain successful and relevant. I pray the same for all our upcoming
talents who are about to make it.”
Congratulating Wizkid who won MOBO 2017
"The Best International Act", Banky W wrote, “Forever
proud of this my younger brother.. forever. @wizkidayo this was
always the plan and I'm so happy to witness the dream become reality.
Go farther, Go higher, Keep winning by God's grace.
“While we are at it, Big ups to
another young legend @davidoofficial on his wins. This talented lad
came into the game, never stopped working and never stopped winning.
And I'm so proud of him as well.” Also, congratulating Wizkid on
his facebook page, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan said
"When Nigeria does well, I cannot help but feel well. My
happiness is tied to the happiness of Nigeria and when Nigerians
break records and take the name of Nigeria to greater heights it
exhilarates me. Thank you Wizkid for raising Nigeria’s flag high
for the positive, not the negative.Your emergence as the Best
International Act at the #MOBOAwards is a proud moment for Nigeria.
And the fact that you emerged over JAY-Z and Drake makes it even more
celebratory. Well done. GEJ."
Wizkid took home the award of ‘Best
International Act’ ahead of Jay-Z, Solange Knowles, Kendrick Lamar,
DJ Khaled among others, while Davido emerged winner in the Best
African Act category defeating Maleek Berry, Sarkodie, Wizkid, Juls,
Tekno to clinch the prize.
