IT was a homecoming affair for old boys
of Eghosa Anglican Grammar School, Benin City recently, when they
held their 6th global convention/60th
anniversary gala/award in Benin, the Edo State capital. The old boys
took time to visit their alma mater. Led by Bishop Agbe Davies, the
delegates to the convention inspected the school premises and
facilities and after seeing the decay of the structures, resolved to
ask the state government to immediately take over the school in
the interest of education in the state and the students who are
learning under unconducive environment.
But the highpoint of the event was the
presentation of awards of Excellence to deserving old boys of the
school including the executive governor of Edo State Mr. Godwin
Obaseki and the Secretary to the Government, Barrister Osarodion
Ogie. Also, other deserving old boys association members were
honoured at the event.
The event also witnessed the election
of new executive members into various positions to steer the ship of
the association for the next two years. The elected members were Col.
Paul Osa Ihianle (Lagos Chapter) as the Global President, Lucky
Ikponmwosa (UK Chapter) - Vice President, Eboigbe Victor Idahosa -
Secretary General(Benin City Chapter), George Obaroghedo (Chicago
Chapter) - Asst Secretary General, MR. Vincent Nehikhare (Port
Harcourt)- Treasurer, Pastor, Ken Okungbowa - Welfare Officer (Benin
City Chapter), others are Henry Omoregie Esq. - Legal Officer (Benin
City Chapter), Christian Omatsone - Asst. Legal Officer (Benin City
Chapter), Harry Omatsone - Director Of Social and Publicity (Benin
City Chapter), Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen - Assistant Director of Social
and Publicity as well as Capt. Amadasu Esosa who is the Electoral
Officer.
