Talented screen diva, Sylvia Edem, has
recorded yet another feat with the premiere of her latest movie,
Sandcastle. The actress who debuted as a movie producer in 2016 with
IMA was on ground to receive guests who were wowed by the touch of
rare class she gave the event.
Top actors, Wale Ojo, Emem Isong,
Patrick Doyle, Mary Uranta, Byran Opara, Charles Okocha, Ushebebe,
Mimi Ojiakor, Mr Isichei Osamgbi, Head, Public Relations, NIMASA,
Henry Uranta, Chidi Nwokeabia, Bassey Okon, Sapphire Ogodo, Sophia
Williams, Praiz Sam Organ and many others lit up the red carpet with
glitz and glamour to the delight of the paparazzi.
Directed by Edward Ukah, Sandcastle is
a romantic thriller which does not only provide entertainment but
also lends a voice to the plight of the physically challenged in the
society, the visually impaired in this case. Sylvia plays the role of
Timi, a young blind girl who finds favour in the eyes of a prominent
man, Ayade, (Wale Ojo). Esosa, (Mary Uranta), an uptown mobile lady
and every man’s dream, yet not satisfied tries to compete for the
attention of Ayade, the blind girl’s love interest. Speaking after the premiere, Sylvia said; “I said earlier in the week
that Sandcastle is one movie that will change my career for good, the
response in the hall after the movie was shown shows that I was not
far from the truth. This is a movie everyone should watch, it touches
on the heart and soul of marriages and keeping the fire of romance
ablaze. I am confident this movie will do well at the cinemas”.
