The city of Frankfurt will again host
the Nollywood Film Festival Germany (NFFG) and its sister event
Nollywood Europe Golden Award (NEGA) this year, director Isaac Izoya
has announced.
The yearly event, organized by Ehizoya
Golden Entertainment e.V., features Nollywood (Nigerian) film
screenings, an award ceremony and networking opportunities for
filmmakers.
Nomination for Nigerian films to be
screened at this year’s festival, taking place on 8-10 September,
has opened.
Unless a special waiver is granted, for
films to qualify for nomination they must have been made during the
last 24 months preceding the Festival. Nominated films, which should
not exceed 120 minutes in length, must also not have been previously
shown on TV or the Internet.
Deadline for the submission of
nominations is 21 July 2017.
Isaac Izoya’s latest production,
co-produced with Dr Queen Blessing O. Itua - USA titled “Diplomatic Strings" shot in Frankfurt, Germany and Lagos, Nigeria is scheduled
to be premiere during the NFFG festival. The movie features some of
Nollywood best both in Nigeria and in the Diaspora among whom are;
Francis Duru, Uche Ogbodo, Cossy Orjiakor, Cynthia Agholor, Isaac
Izoya, Queen Blessing Itua and Obi Madubogwu
“Diplomatic Strings” a movie
dedicated to - war against Human Trafficking, is a story about
“ADAMS, a young zealous man that stands for what is right and fall
in love with a super-rich lady SHARON, who chooses the illegitimate
business as her only way of life. She is highly connected to the high
and mighty in both the private and political circle. Adams explores
her connections to his advantage. Her woes starts when she request
Adams to bring a naïve girl from Nigeria to Europe to work in her
restaurant with the ultimate goal of turning her into prostitute
business”.
That’s the new blockbuster which is
being expected from the stable of Ehizoya Golden Entertainment,
managed and packaged by the grand master of Entertainment and
Cultural Ambassador in Frankfurt Germany, ISAAC IZOYA and Her
Excellency, Dr. Queen Blessing O. Itua - Recipient of Ex-President
Obama “Life Time Achievement award” (Atlanta Georgia, USA).
Some other movies from Ghana and
Nigeria with additional classic Nollywood movies produced by
Nigerians in the Diaspora are also scheduled for screening during the
festival.
Izoya, an award-wining Culture
Ambassador who has been promoting Nollywood for nearly two decades in
Europe, promised that this year’ NFFG/ NEGA will be grand. He’s
working on a programme that will beat last year’s, which was really
a huge success.
He said, Nigerian Comedian, Nollywood
and Ghanaian stars including Nigerian Hip Hop and some political
heavy weight and member of the press are all expected to grace this
year occasion.
The entertainment guru said that NFFG
is a viable platform designed for Nollywood filmmakers to showcase
their work to Europeans and their Nigerian fans in the Diaspora and
call for corporate sponsorship of the event.
