Nigeria’s queen of reggae music,
Evi-Edna Ogholi who ruled in the airwaves in the early 90s and later
disappeared into thin air is back for good. The popular female then
is set to re-enact her old magic in the industry that launched her
into the limelight.
The reggae queen has been on a
sabbatical in far away France, from where she released her latest,
‘’Peace and Love’’ which has been in the making for quite
sometime now.
The album is ready to hit the
airwaves, according to feelers received from her base in Paris. And
that is in a matter of days from now, month end to be precise.
The Delta State-born reggae idol whose
unique touch of Africanness to the genre stands her out, has been
missing from action and African shores for over a decade now. But
didn’t forget that her numerous fans still remember and need more
soulful vibes from her.
Although her previous songs remain
evergreen, the latest addition will no doubt restore the love and
confidence reposed in her by her fans. And, in fact, Premier Music
Nigeria is equally ready for the release of the new album. The
ageless record had actually preferred this period of the year as
against her December, last year choice.
The new work, ‘’Peace and Love’’
is a five tracker, with her traditional native language song ‘’Urehe
(it’s not over until it’s over) not left out. Others are ‘’Nobody
Can Please the World’’, ‘’Africa’’, ‘’My Love in a
Jazzy Place’’ and the title track. It was released in France last
month.
Also, it's video reportedly handled by
popular Nigerian act, Fortune Ortega, in far away United States, is
ready for enjoying airplay there. The reggae queen is also involved
in a UNICEF project, ‘’Save a designed to empower Third World
countries.
