BBNaija and its many twists

If you think you can second-guess Biggie, well think again. Nobody saw it coming and even Bisola, the housemate, who was sent to ‘paradise’ with Bally because of their immunity, said “Biggie, I doff my hat for you”. Big Brother sent four people out of the house and finally evicted the two fake housemates while he rewarded Bisola and Bally. There was palpable tension and confusion while this lasted. An insistent Uriel said: “No way, Bisola is coming back”
When Big Brother introduced Ese and Jon, the fake housemates after CoCoIce was evicted, viewers wondered how Biggie would pull it off without rousing the suspicion of the real housemates, but alas, he did. To convince the real housemates about Bisola and Bally’s exit, Biggie hung their photo frames along with those of the evicted housemates. For the housemates who thought the road to winning the prize money had become narrower, imagine the shock on their faces when Bisola and Bally made it back to the house, particularly TTT who recently kissed TBoss on the lips to complete his morning. Awkward!
Every time you think you have Biggie figured out, he takes an entirely different direction. Now all housemates are up for eviction, except for the winner of the Head of House (HoH) task who, unfortunately does not have the power to save anyone. A real dicey situation! What this means is that aside from TTT, who won HoH task, Bisola and Bally, who have immunity, every other housemate has their fate in the hands of the voting public. So who is next to leave the Big Brother house?
While viewers are excited that Biggie is not predictable hence heightening the mystery that has characterized the show, Big Brother Naija has attracted criticism from pockets of social critics who though do not doubt the quality of the show, are concerned about the substance of its content and questionits morality. There are varying opinions about the show with some of those critics saying that the Big Brother Naija show goes against our cultural and moral uprightness and should be pulled off air by the National Broadcasting Commission.
Meanwhile, this week’s regular pattern has been distorted. Whether things will ‘normalize’ in the coming week is yet to be seen. Biggie is wont tocreate twists and tricks. Perhaps Biggie will dip his hands into his famous bag of tricks and throw us off track once again leaving everyone guessing and second guessing him. In the interim, the new HoH TTT does not wield the power to save or nominate anyone for next weeks’ live eviction.
On a brighter note, Efe celebrated his birthday with an old-school themed birthday bash thrown for him by Biggie. Music was provided by a live band that dished out old school music from Fatai Rolling Dollars’s‘Okeresi number wa’ to Whizzys’ ‘Ojuelegba’not leaving out an all time classic from TuBaba.
But again, activities in the house have shown that the housemates are a very driven bunch with well thoughtout plans for the future - they have proven that they are not simpletons as some people have called them, but are actually professionals who know their onions and bring it to bear where and when necessary.
It was art week and Big Brother tasked their artistic skills and imagination. The first task was for housemates to sculpt the picture of the former housemates in commemoration of their eviction, capturing fond memories about them and their characteristics. This task involved a lot of physical work with their hands and mental creativity. Housemates gathered around the photo frames of the evicted housemates and recapped what each of them was known for: Bisola for her creativity and the fact that she would make a good home for her future husband, Bally for his voice and his singular way of dancing (recall that housemates believe that they were evicted), Jon for his wisdom that defies his young age and exposure, Miyonse for being a chef and a great kisser, Gifty for being a go getter and sweet person, Ese for being real and a tad too aggressive, CoCoIce for her frankness and innate sensitivity and Soma for being a handsome talented model and singer.
A second task was also centered on art. Big Brother has always said: “Big Brother is always fine, Big Brother is a force and not a human being.” For the next task, housemates were asked to allow their imagination gallop away as they draw what they imagine an invisible force like Big Brother, who is everywhere and sees everything, would look like if he were a human being. The outcome was very interesting.Efe came up with an interesting picture that depicted Biggie as a faceless yetubiquitouspersonwho sees everything.
